Genesys Wins Mega Ganga Digital Mapping Project

Genesys International Corporation Limited has secured a major project from the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti for comprehensive digital mapping of the River Ganga’s drainage network.

The project will cover key stretches across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal and will use advanced geospatial technologies, including high-speed sensor systems mounted on manned aerial platforms and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

As part of the initiative, the company will undertake aerial LiDAR surveys, high-resolution photogrammetry, and geotagged videography to map both natural and manmade drainage systems flowing into the Ganga. The project is expected to generate highly accurate 3D LiDAR point clouds and orthorectified imagery, creating a comprehensive “decision-ready” geospatial dataset for river management and planning.

The digital mapping framework is intended to support terrain analysis, river-corridor assessment, and infrastructure planning while enabling authorities to identify drainage points and terrain features more effectively for targeted environmental interventions and monitoring.

The use of advanced geospatial technologies highlights the government’s focus on adopting data-driven and technology-enabled approaches for environmental conservation and the long-term rejuvenation of India’s most significant river system.
